New race inspired fork for road & track

Öhlins launches super fork for top of the line Yamaha and Ducatis... with more to come!
The Öhlins new road & track front fork (R&T) gives enthusiastic road riders and top local racers championship winning superbike performance at a “look twice” price.
Already standard equipment on the Yamaha R7 and the Aprilia RSV Mille SP, the new Öhlins R&T fork is now available for the Yamaha R1 and the Ducati Hyper Sport 748, 916 and 996.
A limited number of forks will hit the market in July. As soon as production steps up more forks and new models will follow. The fork is delivered as a bolt on kit and fits straight on to the bikes.
The new fork is based on technology straight from the Öhlins championship winning superbike fork. It features the same up-side-down (USD) design. The inner steel legs have a 43 mm diameter and a polished titanium nitride surface for lowest possible friction.
Damping is handled by Öhlins unique cartridge damping system and both rebound, compression damping and spring preload are externally adjustable. The surface features Öhlins “golden touch” that breathes both performance and precision!
- The fork is too good if you compare price and performance, says Anders Andersson, Öhlins test rider and European superbike champion. You can ride it very hard and still have a lot of feedback... and personal settings are a piece of cake.
- We like to bring high tech to new markets, adds Marie Wahlén, product manager bike suspension at Öhlins. We hope the market for the R&T will take off as it did for our moto-cross and enduro fork we launched last year.
Also available for the Yamaha R1 and the Ducatis are R&T style shock absorbers and steering dampers. The steering dampers come as a bolt on kit with special brackets that fit the standard mounting points.
With this new launch Öhlins have a full line of high tech forks; the MX&E for motocross and enduro, the S&R for superbike and road racing and, the hottest fork around, the Öhlins R&T for road and track.
